While it was hoped Apple would introduce a new addition to the affordable iPhone SE lineup this year, recent reports have suggested otherwise. As Ming-Chi Kuo, a credible industry analyst, recently shared, the SE 4 is set to got into mass production in December, with the launch possibly planned for early 2025.
Now, X tipster @Jukanlosreve shared that LG Innotek is conducting the final tests of the camera module that the upcoming iPhone SE 4 will feature. The company is said to be gearing up to start mass production of the module in December, which matches the timeline shared by Ming-Chi Kuo.
@Jukanlosreve highlights that LG Innotek generally delivers camera modules around three months before a phone's release, suggesting that the iPhone SE 4 will likely launch in March 2025. This isn't the first time the upcoming affordable Apple phone is tipped for early 2025 release.
The same X tipster previously shared a possible spec sheet of the iPhone SE 4, which also mentioned a March 2025 launch. Getting back to the LG Innotek's camera module, it's thought to be the selfie unit, as the upcoming phone is expected to feature a 48 MP Sony IMX904 sensor on the back.
Other than that, the SE 4 is rumored to feature the Apple 18 SoC, 8 GB of RAM, an in-house modem, and a notched 6.06-inch display. Reportedly, the starting price will be $499, which would be $70 higher than the SE 3 (128 GB WiFi M2 iPad Air curr. $549 on Amazon).
