A no-brainer in the mid-range smartphone segment? Verdict on the Samsung Galaxy S24 FE
The Galaxy S24 FE with its Exynos 2400e and wide display edges is not necessarily the most modern smartphone from Samsung, but it still scored well in our review with a strong overall package of features (although not at the manufacturer's RRP). Samsung itself considers the Fan Edition to be in the upper class with an official retail price of $649, but the model can be found at cheaper prices elsewhere, such as Amazon, where it is currently $574.99.
As the price of the Galaxy S24 FE is slowly sinking towards the $550 threshold of the mid-range smartphone segment, the official RRP of the Fan Edition is hardly competitive when compared to the Galaxy S24 Plus. When available at mid-range prices, the S24 FE offers an exciting package of features with an attractive price-performance ratio.
When buying the 2024 Fan Edition, no compromises are made on software compared to a Galaxy S24. The Galaxy S24 FE runs Android 14 and the in-house OneUI user interface (version 6.1), including Galaxy AI. Operating system updates and security patches will be available for seven years, which is excellent, especially since security patches are rolled out monthly.
The Samsung Galaxy S24 FE is also very appealing beyond the software level with a number of premium features. Find out more which features have been adopted from the high-end range for the Fan Edition and what fans won't be so happy with in our detailed review.
