April 14, 2025 06:25 AM GMT update:
A potential reason for the suspension has been outlined. According to Ice Universe, the delay is prompted by reports from several Korean users about a lock screen issue in the stable version of One UI 7. Specifically, there seem to be situations where the Galaxy S24 fails to unlock reliably.
Original article continues as follows:
Samsung began rolling out the stable version of One UI 7 for the Galaxy S24 series exactly one week ago, at least in South Korea. However, the update deployment might already be over as of today, 14 April, until further notice. Ice Universe, a highly reliable leaker, revealed on X (formerly Twitter) that Samsung has unexpectedly halted the Android 15 update.
Furthermore, we found a related forum post on the Korean Samsung Community page suggesting that the company has ceased distributing the update worldwide (see also the machine-translated screenshot below) for the entire Galaxy S24 lineup, including the S45 Ultra (approx. $900 on Amazon). Whilst the exact reasons for this abrupt halt remain somewhat unclear, Ice Universe claims that a critical bug was discovered in One UI 7. In the forum, you can also find quite a number of negative reviews for One UI 7 alongside indications of a potential issue with the Exynos 2400.
So far, we haven’t seen any official statement from Samsung regarding the halt, and the duration of this renewed delay remains uncertain. Samsung’s handling of this Android 15 update has been less than stellar. One UI 7’s release has been repeatedly pushed back by countless delays. In fact, some Galaxy phones are expected to receive the update only after Google finalises Android 16. On a brighter note, One UI 8 is likely to debut much sooner based on what we know today, with current information suggesting that the Galaxy Z Fold7 and Galaxy Z Flip7 will ship with Android 16.
