Samsung has got off to a rocky start with the rollout of One UI 7. Having expanded the rollout of its Android 15 update to more countries last week, the company then halted the update's distribution globally. Subsequently, an early look at One UI 8 appeared online, full details of which we have provided separately.
Now, SamMobile has published a lengthy video showcasing Samsung's next major update running on a Galaxy Z Flip6 (curr. $999 on Amazon). According to the website, One UI 8 will be underpinned by Android 16, which should come as no surprise. However, the update will likely land later this year rather than in early 2026 because of the changes that Google has made to its Android release cadence.
To that end, it seems that the Galaxy Z Fold7 has already been spotted running One UI 8 in an early benchmark leak. As for changes from One UI 7, the video below shows that Samsung has decided to bring across Now Brief to devices other than its Galaxy S25 trio. Also, One UI 8 makes minor changes to first-party apps and its overall UI. It is worth stressing that Samsung is unlikely to have locked in all of One UI 8's changes so far. With that being said, it appears that One UI 8 is more of a One UI 7.1 update than a major leap from One UI 7.
