The Galaxy S25 Edge has been previously tipped to be unveiled on May 13 and now another leak points at the same date, with more details about the release timeline. The information comes from a Korean publication that states Samsung’s upcoming ultra-slim phone will first launch in China and South Korea, with US and global markets getting it a week later. It should be noted that the information has been machine translated from Korean to English.
Spotted and shared by leaker @Jukanlosreve on X, Korean publication Fnnews, citing an industry source, reports that Samsung will hold a Galaxy Unpacked event on May 13 where it will unveil the Galaxy S25 Edge. The phone will be released first in South Korea and China on May 23 with pre-orders starting from May 14 and ending on May 20. A week after the home country release, the phone will be available in the US and global markets, starting May 30.
The report also states that with this unveiling, Samsung wants to dominate the ultra-thin smartphone market ahead of its competition, mainly Apple. The Cupertino giant is expected to bring a slim iPhone 17 Air this September.
As for the Galaxy S25 Edge, it is said to be priced between the Galaxy S25 Plus and Galaxy S25 Ultra. The report adds that the price for the 256GB model has been set at 1.5 million won (roughly $1,047 USD) while the 512GB model is set at 1.63 million won (roughly $1,137 USD). There will not be a 1TB model. A previous leak hinted at European pricing for the phone and the 256GB was said to cost between €1,200 (roughly $1,364 USD) and €1,300 (roughly $1,477 USD) while the 512GB variant was expected to cost between €1,300 and €1,400 (roughly $1,591 USD). European pricing is typically more expensive than US pricing so the alleged Korean pricing seems credible.
