Xiaomi has now released the Redmi Monitor G Pro 27U, having initially revealed the monitor last week. In short, the Redmi Monitor G Pro 27U replaces the Redmi Display G Pro 27 as one of the most expensive gaming monitors that Xiaomi sells. While the former contains a few upgrades over the latter, these improvements come at a significant price rise between models.
To recap, the Redmi Monitor G Pro 27U features a 27-inch IPS panel that outputs at 4K and 160 Hz by default with 1 ms GtG response times. Although a lower refresh rate than the 180 Hz that the Redmi Display G Pro 27 provides, the Redmi Monitor G Pro 27U can also operate at 320 Hz if one is prepared to drop its resolution to 1080p.
Moreover, the Redmi Monitor G Pro 27U offers 1,600 nits of peak brightness courtesy of 1,152 Mini LED local dimming zones. A 60% improvement over its predecessor, the Redmi Monitor G Pro 27U also delivers 99% Adobe RGB and DCI-P3 colour space coverages, supports Dolby Vision HDR and is VESA DisplayHDR 1000 certified. For reference, the monitor contains the following I/O:
- 1x 3.5 mm jack
- 2x 5 W speakers
- 1x DC-in
- 1x DisplayPort 1.4
- 2x HDMI 2.1
- 1x USB Type-A 2.0
- 1x USB Type-A 3.0
The Redmi Display G Pro 27 arrived last year for CNY 1,999 (~$274). This time around Xiaomi has decided to charge CNY 2,699 (~$370) for the Redmi Monitor G Pro 27U, which equates to a 35% price jump between generations. Xiaomi has not confirmed whether its new Mini LED gaming monitor will be available globally yet. With that being said, it eventually offered the Redmi Display G Pro 27 globally as the Monitor G Pro 27i, which it launched simultaneously with the G24i and G27Qi (curr. $189.99 on Amazon).
