The Redmi Display G Pro 27 has now launched in China, less than a month after its official showcase. To recap, there were suggestions that the monitor would launch for CNY 2,199 (~$306). However, Xiaomi has decided to hit a slightly different price point that should make the monitor more competitive than it would have been otherwise.
For reference, the Redmi Display G Pro 27 measures 27-inches across, just like the Predator XB273K V3 that Acer has started selling in Europe. Likewise, the Redmi Display G Pro 27 relies upon an IPS panel rather than OLED or VA equivalents. Xiaomi has complemented the IPS panel with Mini LED backlights though, which ensures a much higher peak brightness value than a conventional IPS gaming monitor can achieve. Specifically, the Redmi Display G Pro 27 is said to peak at 1,000 nits, for which it is VESA DisplayHDR 1000 certified.
Moreover, the monitor's 1,152 local dimming zones help it deliver 97% Adobe RGB colour space coverage, as well as 0.001-nit black levels and a quoted 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio. On top of that, the Redmi Display G Pro 27 outputs natively at 2,560 x 1,440 pixels with a 180 Hz refresh rate and a 1 ms GtG response times. Currently, the gaming monitor is available through the likes of JD.com and Youpin, where it sells for CNY 1,999 (~$278) in both cases. While Xiaomi has not hinted at a global launch yet, it occasionally does so, such as the Curved Gaming Monitor 30" that it launched last September in Europe.
