Philips has begun selling a new entry in its Evnia gaming monitor range. Arriving as the Evnia 32M2N6800M, the 32-inch monitor has a 4K resolution, a 144 Hz refresh rate and up to 1,250 nits peak brightness thanks to 1,152 Mini LED backlight zones.

The Evnia 32M2N6800M is Philips' latest gaming monitor, and one that sports Mini LED local dimming zones at that. Specifically, the Evnia 32M2N6800M is said to contain 1,152 Mini LED zones, much like the Redmi Display G Pro 27. Unsurprisingly, Philips' new monitor gets just as bright as Xiaomi's equivalent, with 1,250 nits peak brightness (HDR), 700 nits typical brightness (SDR) and VESA DisplayHDR 1000 certification.

Additionally, the Evnia 32M2N6800M has a native 4K resolution (3,840 x 2,160) across its 32-inch IPS panel and a 144 Hz refresh rate, as well as 1 ms GtG response times. On top of that, Philips claims 99.5% DCI-P3 colour space coverage, which increases marginally to 100% for the Adobe RGB colour gamut. Moreover, the Evnia 32M2N6800M has the following ports:

  • 1x DisplayPort 1.4
  • 2x HDMI 2.1
  • 1x USB Type-B upstream
  • 3x USB Type-A (1x fast charging support)

Furthermore, Philips has included an adjustable stand and its third-generation Ambiglow ambient light technology. Thus, the Evnia 32M2N6800M should do a better job than many competitors at creating a more immersive experience while gaming or watching TV shows and movies. For now, the Evnia 32M2N6800M remains a Chinese exclusive, where it sells for CNY 4,999 (~$695). However, there is nothing to suggest that this will always remain the case. For example, Philips released the Evnia 32M2C5500W globally late last year, with the Evnia 49M2C8900 appearing a few months before that.
