Philips Evnia 49M2C8900: Pricing and availability for new 49-inch QD-OLED gaming monitor revealed
Philips has introduced another gaming monitor under its Evnia brand, which it debuted last year. At first glance, the Evnia 49M2C8900 is a larger alternative to the Evnia 34M2C8600, which retails for £1,479.99. In comparison, the Evnia 49M2C8900 will cost £1,649.99 and €2,069 in the Eurozone, making it more expensive than the Evnia 42M2N8900, a £1,499.99 gaming monitor with a flat 42-inch OLED panel.
According to Philips, the Evnia 49M2C8900 relies upon a QD-OLED panel that outputs at 5,120 x 1,440 pixels with a 109 PPI and a 32:9 aspect ratio. Additionally, the monitor has an 1800R curvature, matching the curvature of the ASUS ROG Swift OLED PG49WCD. Moreover, the Evnia 49M2C8900 combines its 1440p resolution with a 240 Hz refresh rate and 250 nits full surface brightness. However, the monitor should be capable of reaching 1,000 ints (APL 3%) when viewing HDR content.
On top of that, the Evnia 49M2C8900 is rated for 125% Adobe RGB and 99% DCI-P3 colour space coverages. Furthermore, Philips integrated Ambiglow lighting, 30 W speakers and 90 W charging via a built-in USB Type-C port. The modern I/O does not end there either, with Philips also including DisplayPort 1.4 and HDMI 2.1 ports. The Evnia 49M2C8900 will be available from mid-September in Europe and the UK.
