Philips 27E2F7901: New 27-inch creator-focused monitor launches with 4K resolution, 98% DCI-P3 and 96 W USB Type-C charging
Philips has introduced the 27E2F7901, a new monitor based around an IPS panel. As its name suggests, the Philips 27E2F7901 measures 27-inches across. According to the company, the monitor outputs natively at 4K (3,160 x 2,160) in a 16:9 aspect ratio with 4 ms GtG response times. Unfortunately, the Philips 27E2F7901 peaks at a mere 60 Hz, not 75 Hz or 100 Hz as is often the case with non-gaming monitors.
Still, Philips rates the 27E2F7901 as delivering a 2,000:1 contrast ratio, 400 nits peak brightness and as being VESA DisplayHDR 400 certified. Thus, the monitor also offers true 8-bit image quality. Additionally, the Philips 27E2F7901 boasts 100% sRGB and 98% DCI-P3 colour space coverages, plus <2 Delta E deviations courtesy of factory calibration.
Likewise, Philips has included Smart Uniformity too, a feature designed to maximize display uniformity. Philips has not skimped on ports either, with four USB Type-A and three USB Type-C connections, one of which can recharge connected devices at up to 96 W. Furthermore, the Philips 27E2F7901 has two DisplayPort 1.4 connections and a single HDMI 2.0 port. For reference, a KVM switch and an adjustable stand round off the monitor. Currently, the Philips 27E2F7901 is available from Amazon and Newegg for US$499.99.
