ASUS has unleashed the TUF Gaming VG249QL3A, a 23.8-inch gaming monitor that relies on a Fast IPS panel. According to ASUS, the TUF Gaming VG249QL3A delivers a 180 Hz refresh rate with 1 ms response times, as well as a 1080p resolution and 350 nits peak brightness.

ASUS has revealed a new gaming monitor under its TUF Gaming brand. Dubbed the TUF Gaming VG249QL3A, the monitor actually has a 23.8-inch panel and not a 24-inch equivalent as its name would suggest. According to ASUS, the compact panel relies on IPS technology and operates natively at 1,920 x 1,080 pixels with a 93 PPI pixel density.

Additionally, the TUF Gaming VG249QL3A offers 8-bit colour accuracy, 350 nits peak brightness and a 1,000:1 contrast ratio. While the monitor lacks HDR support, it covers 99% of the sRGB colour space; ASUS has not provided coverages for other colour spaces, though. Regardless, the monitor combines 1 ms GtG response times with a 180 Hz refresh rate for smooth gaming at 1080p.

Moreover, the TUF Gaming VG249QL3A boasts AMD FreeSync Premium and NVIDIA G-SYNC compatibility for minimising image tearing at high refresh rates, as well as ASUS' proprietary Extreme Low Motion Blur (ELMB) technology. Currently, ASUS hopes to begin selling the TUF Gaming VG249QL3A later next quarter in Europe, although it has not shared pricing details yet. For reference, the gaming monitor will eventually ship with the following ports:

  • 1x VESA adapters (100 x 100 mm)
  • 1x 3.5 mm jack
  • 1x DisplayPort 1.2
  • 2x HDMI 2.0
