AYANEO appears ready to launch the SLIDE, over a year after the gaming handheld's initial showcase. Initially, the company hoped to release the AYANEO SLIDE while the AMD Ryzen 6000 series were current generation APUs. While that did not come to pass, AYANEO has redesigned the SLIDE and equipped it with more powerful Ryzen 7040U alternatives.
Specifically, the AYANEO SLIDE will be available with up to a Ryzen 7 7840U, a 28 W APU that also features a Radeon 780M iGPU. Thus, the AYANEO SLIDE will compete with various other high-end gaming handhelds, including several of AYANEO's other products. Arguably, the clamshell design of AYANEO SLIDE makes it a direct competitor to the GPD Win 4, which is available with Ryzen 6000 and Ryzen 7040U APUs.
AYANEO states that its Indiegogo pre-launch will commence on September 22 at 15:30 JST, which is equivalent to 06:30 UTC. Presumably, it will also announce launch pricing around that time, with no indications offered so far. The inclusion of a 1080p display, an RGB backlit keyboard and various other high-end components implies that the AYANEO SLIDE will be one of the company's most expensive gaming handhelds though, alongside the AYANEO KUN.
