The AOC U27U2P is a new 4K monitor with VESA DisplayHDR 400 certification and 98% DCI-P3 colour space coverage. The monitor also has various ports, including two USB Type-C connections, and is said to be optimised for modern macOS devices.

AOC has had a busy start to the year, having unveiled numerous monitors under the B3 and G4 series. For context, the AOC B3 series are all affordable business monitors, whereas the G4 series only contains gaming monitors at various price points. This time, the company has presented the U27U2P, albeit only in China for the time being.

Nonetheless, AOC tends to release its monitors globally eventually, which cannot be said for all Xiaomi monitors like the new Redmi Display G Pro 27. As the photos below show, the AOC U27U2P has a NanoIPS Black panel, an LG Display technology that aims to deliver improved colour accuracy over conventional IPS panels. Accordingly, the AOC U27U2P is said to cover 100% and 98% of the sRGB and DCI-P3 colour space space, respectively.

Additionally, the monitor is factory-calibrated to <2 Delta E deviations and is VESA DisplayHDR 400 certified. As such, the AOC U27U2P provides 10-bit colour depth (8-bit + FRC) and 400 nits peak brightness. Moreover, the monitor outputs natively in 4K (3,840 x 2,160) at 60 Hz, with AOC adding that it supports HiDPI mode in macOS for models like the MacBook Air 15 or MacBook Pro 14. Allegedly, AOC has tuned the monitor for macOS devices too, although it only has a 60 Hz refresh rate. Moreover, the company has included the following ports for a CNY 3,299 (~$459) launch price:

  • 1x 3.5 mm jack
  • 2x DisplayPort
  • 1x HDMI 2.0
  • 1x RJ45 Ethernet
  • 4x USB 3.2 Type-A
  • 1x USB Type-C (15 W)
  • 1x USB Type-C (90 W)
