MediaTek has unveiled its latest Dimensity Auto Cockpit Platform as the first fruit of its agreement to partner with Nvidia on its next-gen silicon for cars. To that end, not only is the C-X1 an up-to-date 3 nanometer (nm) SoC based on the latest Arm architecture available to it (v9.2-A), it has a GPU from the same Blackwell series as the new RTX 5000-series cards for actual PCs.
The OEM asserts that it is rated to deliver the "end-to-end" AI needed to make next-gen cars the 'smartest' vehicles to date, in that they might be able to generate their own travel vlogs as well as monitor road safety both inside and outside the car - not to mention support "a clear, smooth AAA gaming entertainment experience" for its passengers.
A C-X1-powered car's AI can also co-exist with the new Nvidia Drive AGX dedicated autonomous driving platform and DriveOS UI.
The new Auto Cockpit Platform has launched alongside the MediaTek Dimensity Auto Connect MT2739, the world's first 5G-A chipset for cars with additional NR-NTN and NB-NTN satellite connectivity.
