The Galaxy S25 Ultra has been around for a few months now, having initially debuted at the beginning of the year (2025). Nonetheless, Pitaka has only just got around to re-issuing its PinButton case, which it already sells for the Galaxy S24 Ultra. For those unaware of Pitaka's PinButton cases, they bring more to the table than just device protection.
Arguably, their stand-out feature is three additional hardware buttons that adorn the case's left-hand side and do not replace the power or volume buttons that Samsung includes on the Galaxy S25 Ultra itself. Instead, these buttons use NFC to give the Galaxy S25 Ultra three times the amount of configurable physical buttons that the iPhone 16 Pro Max has. Better still, One UI supports NFC shortcuts directly, which negates the need for a dedicated third-party app.
The PinButton case also contains magnets that make the Galaxy S25 Ultra compatible with MagSafe accessories, whether those be designed by Apple or third parties. According to Pitaka, the use of aramid and thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) allows the PinButton to weigh 34 g while adding a mere 1.86 mm in thickness. Incidentally, Pitaka has included a space for adding an optional phone strap, too. All these features do not come cheap, though. At the time of writing, the PinButton case for the Galaxy S25 Ultra costs $69.99 when purchased from Amazon or Pitaka directly.
