RedMagic has shared more details about and images of the RedMagic 10 Air. To recap, the company has already confirmed that the device will officially land on April 16. In the meantime, it has revealed not only what the RedMagic 10 Air looks like but also that it will feature Qualcomm's last generation Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. As a result, the RedMagic 10 Air will be a fair bit less powerful than the RedMagic 10 Pro (curr. $636 on Amazon) that the company already sells.
Now, RedMagic has outlined that its new gaming smartphone contains a display that provides 'perfect image quality'. In fact, the RedMagic 10 Air will feature a slower AMOLED display than the RedMagic 10 Pro, which delivers up to a 144 Hz refresh rate. By contrast, the RedMagic 10 Air will peak at 120 Hz. Nonetheless, this slower display should help maximise battery life, for which RedMagic has included a 6,000 mAh combined capacity with 80 W wired charging also on tap.
Moreover, the RedMagic 10 Air integrates a special charging chipset that is said to provide up to 96% charging efficiency while reducing surface temperatures by up to 6 degrees too. RedMagic adds that the device also features ultra-fast shoulder buttons to maximise gaming immersion, all within a housing that is roughly 1 mm thinner and 10% lighter than the RedMagic 10 Pro at 205 g. If an early JD.com listing proves accurate, then the device may launch for upwards of CNY 6,000 (~$822) in China. RedMagic has not indicated whether the RedMagic 10 Air will be available globally.
