Samsung has unveiled its latest Galaxy XCover7 Pro rugged smartphone in the global markets. Samsung’s mid-range rugged smartphone comes with a 120 Hz LCD display, a Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 processor, and a small 4,350 mAh battery. It will be available starting April 2025 via Samsung’s official website.

Samsung has expanded its rugged smartphone portfolio by launching an all-new Galaxy XCover7 Pro rugged smartphone. It comes as a successor to the Galaxy XCover7 (curr. at $399.99 on Amazon), which debuted last year. The Pro version brings significant improvements over the last-generation model in terms of performance, display, battery, camera, and more.

Let’s start with the display. The Samsung Galaxy XCover7 Pro has a 6.6-inch LCD display that’s protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus and boasts a resolution of 2,412 x 1,080 pixels and a refresh rate of 120 Hz. Plus, it also comes with Vision Booster, which further enhances outdoor visibility.

The rugged device is rated for IP68 water and dust resistance and comes with MIL-STD-810H military-grade certification, ensuring protection against accidental drops, extreme temperatures, and vibrations. Additionally, there’s also Touch Sensitivity mode, allowing you to use the device with leather gloves up to 2 mm thick. Despite its rugged design, the device measures just 10.2 mm (0.40 inches) in thickness and weighs around 240 grams (0.52 lbs).

Under the hood, the Galaxy XCover7 Pro features a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 processor coupled with 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage, which is further expandable up to 2 TB via microSD card. For photography, it has a dual rear camera setup at the rear consisting of a 50 MP primary camera and an 8 MP ultrawide shooter. There’s a 13 MP front-facing camera for selfies.

Unlike other rugged smartphones, such as the Ulefone Armor 30 Pro, the Galaxy XCover7 Pro has a smaller battery for its category, featuring a 4,350 mAh battery (up from 4,050 mAh from the last generation). Additionally, it has a dedicated customizable top key and XCover key, which allow users to assign shortcuts to frequently used applications, such as barcode scanning, push-to-talk, and more. The rest of the highlights include a fingerprint sensor, stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos support, Wi-Fi 6E, and NFC.

The Samsung Galaxy XCover7 Pro is priced at €609. It will become available later in April 2025 via Samsung’s official website.
