Ulefone has already teased the upcoming launch of the Armor 28 Ultra series multiple times, but now the exact technical specifications and release date are finally available as well. However, the company still hasn’t revealed the official price tag. The new smartphone can be ordered starting on March 17th, and as usual, there will be a launch discount.
The Armor 28 Ultra will hit the market in two versions. One features a thermal camera, the other doesn’t. The other specs are identical. Ulefone is targeting users who are looking for a smartphone that is more rugged than regular handsets, although this also means added weight and pretty bulky dimensions overall.
Ulefone has equipped the Armor 28 Ultra with the MediaTek Dimensity 9300+, which is a quite powerful SoC with 5G support. The mobile device also comes with 16GB RAM and 1TB of mass storage, which are good numbers for a modern smartphone. The handset is 0.76 inches thick and weighs almost 16oz, but it also features a 6.67-inch display with a resolution of 1,080 by 2,400 pixels.
This AMOLED panel can supposedly hit a peak brightness of 2,200 nits and comes with an always-on setting. A secondary 1.04-inch screen can be found on the back. Meanwhile, the thermal imaging camera has a resolution of 640 x 512 pixels, the Sony sensor of the main camera has 50 megapixels, just like the ultra wide-angle lens and selfie camera. IP68, IP69K and MIL-STD-810 certifications are advertised as well, and last but not least, the Armor 28 Ultra sports a big battery with a capacity of 10,600mAh.
