The crowdfunding campaign for the Oukitel WP100 Titan has officially kicked off. Backers can pre-order the new rugged smartphone in return for a contribution of $599, but potential backers should be aware of potential import fees and the inherent risk of crowdfunding campaigns. That being said, Oukitel is a well-known company, so it’s rather unlikely that backers will lose their money. Deliveries are expected to start in April.
The WP100 Titan is a real behemoth of a smartphone. It’s 1.4 inches thick and weighs almost 1.94 pounds, but it’s also protected against dust and water and features a huge battery with a capacity of 33,000mAh. Furthermore, there’s a built-in projector with a resolution of 854 x 480 pixels and 100 lumens.
Moreover, the Outkitel WP100 Titan has a large LED on the back, so the phone should be able to replace several devices such as a projector, power bank and flashlight. All of these can come in handy while camping or during other outdoor activities. Reverse charging with up to 18 watts is supported as well, while the smartphone itself can be charged with up to 66W. The speaker can serve as a siren and hit a volume of 130 decibels, which is loud enough to draw attention or deter wildlife in certain situations.
The Outkitel smartphone is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 5G SoC. It comes with 16GB RAM and 512GB of mass storage. The main camera offers 200 megapixels, but there’s also a night-vision camera with 20MP as well as a selfie camera with 32MP. The WP100 Titan is actively cooled and can be unlocked via a fingerprint sensor. The new rugged Android handset ships with Android 14, but the manufacturer promises to provide an update to Android 15.
