The Oukitel WP300 looks like yet another dual-display rugged smartphone on first glance in its previews - however, the OEM claims that the little screen next to the "108MP AI" rear cameras is in fact the body of a fitness tracker that can be taken out and worn on the wrist-strap that is seemingly included in the box.
Furthermore, the WP300's integrated wearable is of the type that can also double as a Bluetooth earphone for calls. Oukitel asserts that its upcoming "world's first industrial-grade modular smart rugged phone" is even more versatile as most of its rear panel can double as a large LED lamp for adventure or emergencies.
The WP300 is also touted as a 16,000mAh device, with reverse charging for other devices such as action cameras, drones or other smartphones - although neither will charge particularly quickly at up to 18W.
The phone itself will also probably take quite some time to recharge at 45W. In addition, the combination of that ultra-high-capacity spec and its IP68/IP69/MIL-STD-810H-rated chassis makes the WP300 ultra-chunky at 23.2 millimeters in depth, compared to 8mm in the 8,000mAh Honor Power.
Those who find the potentially multi-function handset intriguing might be pleased to have learned that it will launch at an introductory price of $399 rather than its recommended price of $599.
Oukitel has now revealed that the "VIP Discount" is possible as the WP300 will actually become a Kickstarter reward from May 20, 2025.
It is still apparently necessary to sign up via Oukitel itself to secure the special offer - although that might also results in an email with the code OUK5 for 5% off items on the OEM's own web-store.
