The Chinese company Ulefone now offers two new smartphones. The Armor 28 Ultra Thermal Version and the regular Armor 28 Ultra without the thermal camera are available now. The former is officially priced at $1,199, while the Armor 28 Ultra should be slightly cheaper, but is not yet listed at the official US store. Ulefone states that the smartphones will also be listed on Amazon in some markets, although at potentially higher prices.
These handsets are rugged phones, meaning they are particularly robust and shouldn’t easily take damage in demanding conditions. The Armor 28 Ultra Thermal Version comes with the typical certifications including IP69, IP69K, MIL-STD-810H and is equipped with a powerful 10,600mAh battery that supports 50W wireless and 120W wired charging. The built-in ThermoVue T2 camera has a resolution of 640 x 512 pixels, uses special AI algorithms and can measure with an accuracy of 2°C. The phone also sports a 64MP night vision camera. The processor is the well-known MediaTek Dimensity 9300+, which is paired with 16GB LPDDR5X memory. Meanwhile, the internal 1TB storage can be easily expanded by up to 2TB via microSD card.
Furthermore, the 6.67-inch AMOLED display has a peak brightness of 2,200 nits, refresh rate of 120Hz and resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels. Additionally, there is a 1.04-inch secondary display on the back, which can be used for notifications or certain settings. The Android device has an integrated gyroscope and barometer but weighs almost 16oz and is almost 0.8 inches thick. Last but not least, there is a uSmart port which can be used to connect accessories such as an endoscope.
