Following its global debut at MWC 2025, Samsung has now officially launched its latest budget-range smartphone, the Samsung Galaxy A26 5G, in India. The Galaxy A26 5G comes as a direct successor to the A25 (curr. at $199.45 on Amazon), which debuted last year. Specs-wise, there are slight improvements here compared to the last generation model. However, it retains the same 5,000 mAh battery that supports 25 W wired charging.
Under the hood, the Galaxy A26 6G is powered by the Exynos 1380 processor paired with a Mali-G68 GPU. It packs 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage with room for storage expansion up to 2 TB. The device runs Android 15-based One UI 7.0 out of the box, and Samsung promises straight 6 years of Android OS updates (Android 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, and 21) and 6 years of security updates, similar to the Galaxy A36 and A56 devices.
Furthermore, the Samsung Galaxy A26 5G sports a 6.7-inch FHD+ AMOLED display (up from the 6.5-inch of the A25 5G) with a peak brightness of 1000 nits and a refresh rate of 120 Hz. There’s no upgrade in the camera department. It retains the same 50 MP primary camera with OIS support. The main camera is complemented by an 8 MP ultrawide shooter and a 2 MP macro lens. Up front, there’s a 13 MP selfie camera.
Dimensionally, the 5G-enabled smartphone measures 7.7 mm (0.3 inches) in thickness and weighs around 200 grams (0.44 lbs). The rest of the highlights include IP67 water and dust resistance, a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, stereo speakers, and NFC support.
Available in Awesome Mint, Awesome Black, Awesome White, and Awesome Peach colorways, the Samsung Galaxy A26 5G starts at INR 24,999 (~$292) for the base 8 GB + 128 GB model, and the 8 GB + 256 GB model retails at INR 27,999 (~$327). It’s now available for purchase via Samsung India’s official website and Flipkart.
