Galaxy A27: Samsung's newly-leaked budget phone looks like a $1,000 “S” flagship

Leaked renders reveal the Galaxy A27 is finally ditching the waterdrop notch for a modern punch-hole camera. This sleek design upgrade aligns the budget handset with the premium Galaxy S26 and A57 series. With a refined triple-camera layout and a flat 6.7-inch display, the A27 brings Samsung’s flagship aesthetic to a much more affordable price point.

Without a doubt, the most striking upgrade over last year's Galaxy A26 5G is the transition to a centred punch-hole camera. This single change dramatically elevates the Galaxy A27’s aesthetic, making the budget-friendly Galaxy look nearly indistinguishable from the more premium Galaxy A37, A57, and even the flagship Galaxy S26 series.

By standardizing this sleek, flat-screen look across its lineup, Samsung is (finally) blurring the lines between its value and high-end offerings.

Galaxy A27: Samsung’s new budget Galaxy looks more “expensive”, but what about the rest?

The Galaxy A27 leak doesn’t include the full specs of the phone. However, it tells us that the A27 maintains a familiar feel to that of the A26:

  • Front Camera: Modern punch-hole cutout (replacing the A26's waterdrop notch).
  • Dimensions: 162.3 x 78.6 x 7.9 mm (shorter and wider than the A26's 164.0 x 77.5 x 7.7 mm).
  • Rear Design: Redesigned triple-camera "island" housing (looks similar to the Galaxy A37 & A57)
  • Display: Roughly 6.7-inch flat panel

While internal specs like the chipset and battery remain under wraps, the Galaxy A27 appears to be a major visual "glow-up" for one of Samsung's most accessible smartphones.

Considering the ongoing memory and storage crisis, as well as the fact that Samsung is actively increasing prices of existing phones, tablets, and laptops, it's going to be nice to see the Galaxy A27 retain the €300 starting price of the Galaxy A26.
