New Samsung Galaxy A27: Specs, colors, official renders leak ahead of launch; big downgrades tipped

A big leak has surfaced, shedding light on the upcoming Galaxy A27, which we reported on back in April. Marketing materials and press renders, shared by a trusted leakster, indicate that Samsung’s new affordable phone is gearing up for a release in the second half of 2026, bringing some changes to the company’s budget lineup.
The renders seem to reveal that Samsung is moving toward a modern design with a punch-hole selfie camera instead of the old notch in the Galaxy A26. The Galaxy A27 is expected to come in Light Pink, Blue, and Black.
The most significant internal change is the departure from Samsung’s in-house Exynos chip. The Galaxy A27 is expected to feature the 4nm Snapdragon 6 Gen 3, which scores about 10% higher than the 5nm Exynos 1380 in the Galaxy A26. This transition marks a meaningful platform shift for the mid-range A-series, which has largely relied on Exynos chipsets across Europe and Asia for several generations.

Galaxy A27 vs Galaxy A26: Leaked specs suggest Samsung is downgrading the new budget Galaxy phone; no microSD card slot, lower-res cameras
While the A27 retains some core elements like the 50MP main camera, a 5,000 mAh battery and 25W charging, there are several changes
- Processor: Exynos 1380 (5nm) on the A26 vs Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 (4nm) on the A27
- Display: 6.7-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED panel with a 120 Hz refresh rate on both (expected but unconfirmed)
- Main camera: 50MP primary sensor with OIS and a 2 MP macro lens on both
- Ultrawide camera: 8MP on the A26 versus 5MP on the A27.
- Selfie camera: 13MP on the the A26 versus 12MP on the A27.
- Battery & charging: 5,000 mAh battery with 25 W wired charging on both.
- RAM & storage: 6 GB / 8 GB RAM and 128 GB / 256 GB internal storage on both
- microSD support: Up to 1 TB on the A26 versus no microSD card support on the A27.
- Software: The A26 launched with Android 15 and One UI 7; the A27 is said to come with Android 16 and One UI 8.5
All in all, if the leaked info pans out, there are a few big downgrades compared to the Galaxy A26, which include the ultra-wide-angle camera going from an 8MP to 5MP sensor. At the same time, Samsung seems to be removing the microSD card slot from the A27, which is a major selling point of the A26.
