Digital Chat Station continues to tease details about Honor's next gaming smartphone on Weibo. Currently, Honor has not revealed anything about the prospect of introducing any such device. Nonetheless, Digital Chat Station insists that the company has a successor to the Honor GT in the works.
To recap, the leaker initially claimed that the Honor GT Pro would combine a Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset with 90 W wired charging and a 1.5K (1220p) display. In other words, the GT Pro should line up as a competitor to current generation gaming smartphones like the ROG Phone 9 Pro and the RedMagic 10 Pro (curr. $636 on Amazon). Subsequently, they disclosed that these components would work with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.1 flash storage, as well as a flat display panel and a metal mid-frame.
The Honor GT Pro is also tipped to launch with an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner in another upgrade from the existing Honor GT. More accurate and secure than optical fingerprint scanners, Honor has typically reserved ultrasonic fingerprint scanners for its flagships like last autumn's Magic7 Pro.
Similarly, Digital Chat Station expects Honor to include a dual-frequency GPS module and a 'lizard' glass to protect its flat display. Unfortunately, more details about the whereabouts of the Honor GT Pro remain unknown for now, including whether the device will receive an international release.
