Over the past few weeks, more and more information about the Honor GT Pro has been emerging online. The scraps of data, when put together, suggest it will be a low-cost alternative to mainstream gaming smartphones. Now, a well-known Weibo leaker has revealed the phone's key specifications.
Contrary to previous reports that said it would launch with a vanilla Snapdragon 8 Elite, the Honor GT Pro will now debut Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite Leading Edition, implying the chip will be slightly overclocked out of the box. It will be powered by a colossal 7,200 mAh battery that supports 90 Watt fast charging. That is undoubtedly the largest upgrade over last year's Honor GT that packed a respectable 5,300 mAh cell.
Other Honor GT Pro specs include a 6.7-inch LTPO AMOLED screen with a refresh rate of 144 Hz and 6,000 nits peak brightness, an X-axis motor and ultrasonic fingerprint sensor. For the cameras, it uses a 50 MP Sony IMX906 wide-angle lens and a 50 MP Sony IMX856 telephoto sensor with 3x optical zoom.
Honor will unveil the GT Pro on April 23 in China. It will be available in three colour variants, with storage and memory maxing out at 1 TB UFS 4.1 and 16 GB LPDDR5X, respectively. As far as its price goes, the last-gen Honor GT went for RMB 3,299 ($452) for the maxed-out variant. Given the numerous upgrades, there's a good chance it will go above the $500 mark this time.
