Honor is preparing to launch a new smartphone with a massive battery capacity in a few days' time. However, Digital Chat Station has shed new light on the state of what may end being Honor's next affordable gaming smartphone.
To recap, Honor released the Honor GT last year as a cheaper alternative to gaming smartphones like the RedMagic 9 Pro or ROG Phone 8 owing to its Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. Despite retailing for a mere CNY 2,199 (~$299) in Honor's home market, the Honor GT also packs a 5,300 mAh battery that supports 100 W wired charging and a 120 Hz AMOLED display that outputs at 1200p (1.5K).
According to Digital Chat Station, the so-called Honor GT Pro should be a true rival to the RedMagic 10 Pro (curr. $899 on Amazon) and other contemporary gaming smartphones thanks to its Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset. On top of that, the Honor GT Pro is said to utilise a 1200p display with a flat finish, just like last year's model.
Digital Chat Station adds that Honor has dropped wired charging to 90 W though, which should indicate that upgrades in other areas will be forthcoming. While a release date remains unknown for now, the same leaker implies that the Honor GT Pro will launch sooner rather than later.
