While some OEMs continue to struggle with the Android 15 rollout, Xiaomi already has its sights set on Android 16, with the company now kickstarting its Developer Preview program for the HyperOS 2 update.
As revealed officially, Xiaomi has begun its beta preview for the Android 16-based Hyper OS 2 update globally, with the Xiaomi 15 and Xiaomi 14T Pro leading the charge. The company has released public builds for both phones; while these builds are meant for developers, users brave enough can install them regardless without the need for an unlocked bootloader.
These can only be installed on phones on the latest version of HyperOS. To install these builds, the ROMs can be downloaded from the links in the source segment.
- The downloaded ROM must then be moved to phone storage.
- Developer Options must be enabled
- Settings>About phone>System icon>Tap the three dots at the right top corner>Choose update package.
The ROM package will then be verified, with the installation process beginning right after. While that's straightforward, we must warn that these are beta builds and likely ridden with bugs—tread with caution.
