Vivo is planning to fully unveil the X200 Ultra on April 21 alongside other devices like the X200s, Pad5 Pro and Watch 5. As usual, the company and its executives have been gradually revealing details about all its forthcoming devices throughout the last few weeks.
Unsurprisingly, they have paid particular attention to the X200 Ultra, which will be the fourth 'Ultra' branded flagship to launch this year after the Galaxy S25 Ultra (curr. $1,099.99 on Amazon), Xiaomi 15 Ultra and the Oppo Find X8 Ultra that is due to launch tomorrow. Despite the obvious comparisons, Vivo has decided to pit the X200 Ultra against the iPhone 16 Pro Max in early comparisons.
However, there is no escaping the fact that Vivo has lifted from Xiaomi again with the latest version of its Photography Kit, which it has now detailed on Weibo. Pioneered by Xiaomi with the Xiaomi 13 Ultra, Vivo introduced an equivalent last year for the X100 Ultra. According to Vivo executive Han Bo Xiao, Vivo has overhauled the accessory in time for the release of the X200 Ultra, much like Xiaomi did in February with its Xiaomi 15 Ultra Photography Kit.
As the photo below shows, Vivo's alternative attempts to transform the X200 Ultra into a DSLR with a dedicated grip and shutter button. Connected to the device by USB Type-C, the Photography Kit provides an additional 2,300 mAh battery and a shoulder strap to make the whole setup easier to carry. Perhaps coincidentally, Vivo's camera-focused accessory features a larger battery capacity than its Xiaomi alternative to the tune of 300 mAh. The Vivo X200 Ultra Photography Kit will debut on April 21 in China; there is no word on international availability though.
