Xiaomi intros new 10-in-1 USB-C dock with 100 W fast charging support

Xiaomi has introduced a new USB-C dock in China. Called the 10-in-1 Docking Station, its crowdfunding price is CNY 179, which converts to about $25. It features an aluminum alloy chassis and has a hidden slot for the integrated USB-C cable, which makes it easy to carry around.

As for the ports that are on this new USB-C Xiaomi dock, they are as follows:

• 3x USB 3.0 Type-A
• 1x USB 3.0 Type-C
• 1x USB Type-C with PD for charging
• 1x HDMI 2.0 with support for 4K display output at 60 Hz
• 1x TF card slot
• 1x SD card slot
• 1x Ethernet
• 1x 3.5 mm audio port

Among these ports, the dedicated USB Type-C port for charging has support for PD 100 W fast charging (150 W Anker GaNPrime charger curr. $99.99 on Amazon). Xiaomi notes that it can offer a maximum of 90 W power to the connected laptop. The company also highlights that the USB 3.0 Type-C and Type-A ports can offer over 400 MB/s transfer speed, allowing speedy file transfers.

To be specific, Xiaomi claims that the 10-in-1 dock can transfer a 1 GB file in about 3 seconds. The Ethernet port of the Docking Station is said to be supported by a Gigabit network card that can adapt to different speeds. For example, it's said to be able to switch from 10 Mbps to 100 Mbps to 1,000 Mbps.

Other highlights of the new Xiaomi 10-in-1 Docking Station include compatibility with major operating systems, including Android, hot-swappability, and multiple hardware protections. There's no word on global availability yet, but the company does sell its 5-in-1 USB-C hub outside China, so the new dock may also soon land in the global market.
