Sony has launched two new ULT Power Sound series wireless portable speakers - the ULT Field 3 and ULT Field 5. Both come with enhanced bass capabilities and a carry strap for grab-and-go portability. The Field 3 has an MSRP of $199.99 (here on Amazon) and the Field 5 has an MSRP of $329.99 (here on Amazon).
Two identical speakers can be paired for stereo output, while up to 100 speakers compatible with Party Connect can be synchronized to play the same music across a wide venue. The Field 3 has a single stage bass boost with a 7-band EQ, while the Field 5 has two stages with a 10-band EQ. Both units automatically adjust the music to compensate for ambient noise to enhance clarity.
The speakers support Bluetooth 5.2 multipoint connections to two devices at once. Both can be controlled from a smartphone running the Sony Sound Connect app, and adjustments to the equalization, lighting, and other settings can be made. The Field 5 has 360° Party Light that is synchronized with the music.
The Field 3 has a runtime of 24 hours, and the Field 5 has a runtime of 25 hours. Both can quick charge in 10 minutes to add 2 hours of runtime. Both can be used as a USB-C power bank to charge smartphones and other devices. The charge level can be checked using the speaker app from any smartphone.
The Field 3 weighs 1.2 kg (2.7 lbs.) and measures 256 mm x 113 mm x 79 mm (10.1 x 4.5 x 3.1 in.). The Field 5 weighs 3.3 kg (7.28 lbs.) and measures 320 mm x 144 mm x 125 mm (12.6 x 5.7 x 4.9 in.). Both are IP67-rated for dust- and water-resistance.
