Marshall Willen II new upgraded portable speaker arrives
The Marshall Willen II, a compact portable speaker, is now available to pre-order globally. The Marshall Willen II is slightly larger than its predecessor but is more compact than the recently revealed Emberton III, another portable speaker from the brand; the Willen II measures 100.5 x 100.5 x 43.4 mm (~3.96 x 3.96 x 1.71 inches).
The new version of the Willen speaker features Bluetooth LE Audio with Auracast, which will arrive later via an OTA update. This is an upgrade on the older model, and Auracast should allow the Willen II to act as a source device so it can connect to other units directly. The speaker will enable you to play music for up to 17 hours, an upgrade on the 15-hour runtime of the original model. Other improvements include higher-quality materials and an enhanced user experience.
Like the first version, the Willen II features a microphone for hands-free calls, and a strap makes the speaker easy to transport or hang. Plus, the device is suitable for outdoor use, with an IP67 dust and waterproof rating. The product can also handle being under 1 m (~3.3 ft) water for up to 30 minutes. You can pre-order the Marshall Willen II portable speaker worldwide for $119.99/£99.99/€119.99, the same price as the original Willen. The new product will launch on August 26th.
