Tribit StormBox Blast 2 debuts as portable speaker rated for 200W output
The StormBox Blast 2 is touted by Tribit as not just another speaker with a convenient handle, but one in which the subwoofer alone apparently goes up to 80W, backed up with "large" dual passive radiators to back its bass up further.
It is joined by dual 15W tweeters and mid-range 45W drivers to complete its "panoramic" sound output. The Blast 2 also has "advanced" amplifiers for "balanced and dynamic" 2.1-channel audio.
It also features tunable, dynamic RGB lighting and dual 6.35mm jacks for karaoke, although the latter requires wired mics that might be a separate purchase.
Despite its impressive alleged specs, there are some caveats to the Blast 2's upgrades, chiefly that it needs to be plugged in to achieve its full 200W rating.
It is slated to get up to 180W on its battery, however, which is also rated to last for up to 30 hours between charges (which can be done over USB-C as well as an AC connector, although the former is apparently "significantly" slower than the latter).
The StormBox Blast 2 is now available via either Tribit or Amazon at a listed price of $299.99.
