The Porsche Design PDS20 portable outdoor speaker has been revealed. The speaker features two passive radiators alongside a 1.75-in (~44 mm) woofer for a bassier sound. Plus, a second unit can be connected via Bluetooth to create a stereo audio experience.
You can adjust the PDS20 via touch controls with haptic feedback or voice commands, with suggested uses like switching between playlists, answering calls and scheduling meetings. Its built-in battery allows the device to run for up to ten hours and fully recharges in three hours via the accompanying USB-A to USB-C cable. The round speaker has a satin anodized aluminum housing with gray fabric covering the speaker. The compact gadget measures 43 x 94 x 94 mm (~1.7 x 3.7 x 3.7-in) and weighs 302 g (~10.7 oz).
The speaker comes with a silicone carrying strap, which is interchangeable with Agate Grey and Shade Green options, two colors used for the Porsche 911 Dakar performance car. The speaker is rated as IP67 dust and water-resistant, meaning it can withstand splashes. The Porsche Design PDS20 portable outdoor speaker is now available in Europe for £210/€229. US customers can pre-order the device for US$245, and it will be launched here on November 15.
