ET PRO has reimagined the guitar cabinet with the Model Twenty Two, the world’s first flat panel, active speaker guitar cabinet. Unlike heavy traditional cabinets designed around big speakers, the Twenty Two utilizes flat panel speaker technology to shrink depth and weight while maintaining powerful output. The Twenty Two enables guitarists to travel light and play in compact environments with ease.
Traditional guitar cabinets typically use large, 8 to 15 inch cone speakers inside a wood enclosure. A typical 2x12 cabinet can weigh over 50 pounds with dimensions exceeding 24x24x12 inches making travel and setup cumbersome.
The Twenty Two addresses this by using flat panel speaker technology to shrink the dimensions to 22x16x5 inches while dropping the weight to just 16.5 pounds. Nevertheless, this open-back cabinet can deliver 350 watts of amplification at up to 120 dB like a 2x12 cabinet.
The Model Twenty Two has multiple speaker settings for flexibile use. A FRFR (full-range, flat response) speaker mode allows its use with digital AI modeling pedals (like this at Amazon), where all amp, cab, and pedal effects are created digitally. The speaker also has an Amp+Cab mode allowing guitarists to use their traditional pedals. Other modes include cab-voice only and preamp modes.
The Model Twenty Two takes 8 to 10 weeks to build-to-order and is available now for $1,699. While waiting, why not pick up a fun, comfortable guitar (like this at Amazon).
