New Hisense HS2100 soundbar with wireless subwoofer and DTS Virtual:X launches
Hisense has officially launched the HS2100 2.1 channel soundbar with wireless subwoofer in Europe, following its arrival in the US several weeks ago. The two front-facing full-range speakers in the central unit and the external 5.25-inch subwoofer generate a 240W output.
The HS2100 uses DTS Virtual:X technology to create a surround sound experience, and you can choose between six EQ modes to suit films, gaming, music and sports. It is worth noting that the model is also compatible with Dolby Digital Plus but not Dolby Atmos. EZ Play allows you to control the soundbar with your Hisense TV remote; all models from the 2022 lineup onwards are compatible. You can pair it to your TV or phone thanks to Bluetooth 5.3 or physically connect gadgets via ports like HDMI ARC, Optical, USB, and AUX. Plus, in North America, the device is advertised as Roku TV Ready, or in other words, compatible with any Roku TV connected via the accompanying HDMI cable.
The main speaker measures 800 x 60 x 90 mm (~31.5 x 2.4 x 3.5-in), and the compact subwoofer measures 110 x 300 x 350 mm (~4.3 x 11.8 x 13.8-in). The Hisense HS2100 2.1 Soundbar with Wireless Subwoofer retails for $199.99/£129/€129, making it relatively affordable. Plus, customers in the US can buy the gadget for the discounted price of $109.99, getting $90 or 45% off the RRP; it is unclear how long this deal will last.
