IKEA Home smart app now supports multiple DIRIGERA hubs
IKEA has updated its Home smart app; the upgrades bring the iOS app to Version 1.22.1 and the Android equivalent to Version 1.18.2. For clarity, IKEA has two apps which you can use to control their smart home products: Home smart, compatible with the Dirigera hub, and Homes smart 1, for the TRÅDFRI gateway.
With the latest update, the IKEA Home smart app now supports two DIRIGERA hubs, having previously only allowed you to register one device. The company suggested in its release notes that it would enable customers to "keep everything under one digital roof". It could be that IKEA has made this upgrade for large smart home systems, with over 100 devices, the current maximum volume of connections per unit.
The update also brought the new PARASOLL door/window sensor to the app, allowing you to receive smartphone notifications to alert you to unexpected movements. Plus, The Workshop lets you try out and rate other beta features like automatic screen rotation and the "Let it snow" Christmas background. IKEA Home smart 1, for TRÅDFRI, was also updated earlier this month to Version 1.25.0, adding support for several new products, including the SOMRIG shortcut button, VALLHORN motion sensor, and the recently released JETSTRÖM LED light panel.
