Pet owners can now also benefit from smart home devices, so there are not only smart cat toilets, but also automatic feeding machines. Xiaomi has now launched a new, smart automatic feeding machine that is intended to reliably feed your beloved four-legged friend on a regular basis, even when you are away.
The Xiaomi Mijia Pet Feeder 2 is said to have a particularly high capacity. The storage tank offers a volume of an impressive 5 liters, which can hold up to 2.5 kilograms of cat food. The model is suitable for dry food at a size of up to 12 millimeters and is reportedly able to prevent blockages, which is particularly relevant if pet owners are away for several days. Depending on the size and number of pets, the capacity should be sufficient for up to a month.
The model is equipped with an infrared-based sensor system that is designed to indicate on an LCD screen as well as in the Mijia app when food supplies are running low. There is also a scale that measures the food consumed by the animal to the nearest gram, for which a self-learning algorithm comes into play. The automatic feeding machine can also be used with four batteries to protect against power outages or for wireless operation. The use of stainless steel should make cleaning particularly easy.
In China, the smart automatic feeding machine is available for a price equivalent to around $51. Information about a global release is not yet available.
