Viewsonic has unveiled the M1 Max, a portable projector with Google TV streaming, Harman Kardon stereo speakers, and power bank capability. It supports HDMI and USB-C video inputs from game consoles, smartphones, and streaming video adapters. The 1080P projector can project an image up to 100 inches in size.

Viewsonic has announced the M1 Max portable projector that can stream directly from Google TV and recharge cell phones. The projector will begin shipping later in April, and readers can look for it at online shops (such as the Viewsonic store on Amazon). Viewsonic as not disclosed how much this upcoming product will cost.

The projector accepts HDMI 1.4 and USB-C video inputs from game consoles, smartphones, and streaming video adapters with a video lag of 165 ms while projecting 1080P images from 40 to 100 inches (1.0 to 2.5 m) in size. The unit has a throw distance of 2.6 to 8.8 feet (0.8 to 2.67 m). Automatic keystone and corner correction ensures the projection is always rectangular rather than skewed.

The M1X Max has a maximum brightness of 500 lumens with a contrast ratio of 120,000 to 1. The Harman Kardon speakers output 3 watts each. Users can connect headphones or speakers using the 3.5mm audio output jack or Bluetooth connection. The fan noise is a very low 26 dB, claims the company.

The projector can be used to charge external devices using its internal battery. The 12,000 mAh battery can power the projector for up to two hours. An external USB-C power bank can be attached to the projector to extend runtimes.

The projector automatically turns on when tilted from the shut-off position. It can project images onto walls and ceilings due to its 360-degree swivel stand. Using a smartphone, the user can control the unit over Wi-Fi. The 2.1 pounds (0.96 kg) projector measures 7.2 x 5.6 x 2.4 inches (182 x 141 x 62 mm).
