Good for gaming: ViewSonic X2-4K Pro short throw projector comes with up to 240 Hz refresh rate and low input lag
The X2-4K Pro is similar to the X1-4K Pro and has virtually identical performance parameters. However, there is one major difference: the X2-4K Pro uses a different optical system - it is a short throw projector. The projection ratio can therefore be set to between 0.69 and 0.83 via the optical zoom, which means that a shorter distance is required between the projector and the screen. The required distance is between 0.92 and 2.2 meters; at a distance of 1.53 meters, a 100-inch image can be produced. An image between 60 and 120 inches in size can be projected with the X2-4K Pro.
Apart from that, there are hardly any differences: thanks to pixel shifting, the X2-4K Pro also has a maximum resolution of 3,840 x 2,160 pixels and a brightness of 3,300 lumens - although ViewSonic specifies LED and not ANSI lumens. A refresh rate of 120 Hz can be displayed with 1,440p material, and the input delay is said to be just 4.2 milliseconds; thanks to the additional Ultra Fast Input option the refresh rate can reach 240 Hz but only at 1080p resolution.
A Harman Kardon sound system with a total output of 12 watts is installed. Image signals can reach the device via USB Type-C and HDMI, and the network connection is made via WiFi, which is convenient. Google TV is used as the operating system, which allows the installation of additional apps and direct access to material from streaming providers.
ViewSonic has not yet commented on the price or availability of the X2-4K Pro. Its predecessor, the ViewSonic X2-4K, is still available via Amazon, for example, and is advertised with a brightness of 2,900 LED lumens.
