Optoma UHZ35 4K UHD laser projector offers 3,500 lumens and 240 Hz for gamers
Last year Optoma presented the UHZ35ST, a UHD short-throw laser projector that is also suitable for gaming thanks to up to 240 Hz. The Optoma UHZ35 is now its sister model, which requires a greater distance to the projection surface, but otherwise also offers impressive features.
The Optoma UHZ35 is not a short-throw model, but is also a compact 4K UHD DuraCore laser projector. While the UHZ35ST enables an image up to 100 inches in size from just under one meter away, the UHZ35 requires a distance of at least 1.3 m from the screen. Its projection ratio is 1.4:1 ~ 2.24:1 to reproduce an image up to 303 inches in size. In addition to a 1.6x zoom, the laser projector also supports 360-degree and portrait format projection.

The HDR and HLG-compatible projector achieves a bright image of up to 3,500 lumens with its DLP technology and laser light source. The manufacturer specifies a contrast ratio of 500,000:1 and a maximum refresh rate of 240 Hz. This makes the Optoma UHZ35 also suitable for gamers, especially as the input latency in gaming mode with 1080p and 240 Hz is also very low at just 4.4 ms. A picture mode for golf simulations is also on board.
The Optoma UHZ35 offers two HDMI 2.0 connections (one with eARC), one USB-A, a 3.5 mm audio jack as well as RJ45 and RS232. Optoma promises energy-saving operation and states a maximum power consumption of 185 W. All this is packaged in relatively compact housing made from up to 50 percent PCR (post-consumer recycled) plastic, which also houses a 15W speaker.
