Xgimi has launched the Horizon S Pro, a smart home theater projector. The model shares many similarities with the recently released Horizon S Max, though factors like a lower peak brightness level and decreased storage make the Pro a cheaper option. Other features of the DLP model include Android TV, built-in speakers and support for Dolby Vision.

The Xgimi Horizon S Pro projector is now available globally. The smart home theater model launched alongside the Horizon S Max, which sits at the top of the Horizon range. There are some similarities between the two devices, such as the Dual Light 2.0 LED and Laser light sources.

However, the Horizon S Pro has a lower peak brightness level of 1,800 ISO lumens compared to the 3,100 ISO lumens of the Max. The model supports Dolby Vision, HDR10 and HLG, though it lacks the IMAX Enhanced tool found on the other device. Another difference is with the storage, with 32GB available on the Pro and 64GB offered on the Max. Both DLP models have a 0.47-inch DMD display chip with a 4K (3840 x 2160 px) resolution and 110% coverage of the BT.2020 color gamut. They have a 1.2:1 throw ratio, 4:3 and 16:9 aspect ratios and are suited to images between 40 and 200 inches (~102 and 508 cm) wide.

According to the product listing, the devices have a 1,000,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio, and image-perfecting tools like auto keystone correction, autofocus and intelligent screen alignment. Like the Max, the Pro uses Android TV 11.0 and has two built-in 12W speakers from Harman Kardon. You can buy the Xgimi Horizon S Pro projector for $1,299/£1,189/€1,399. That makes it significantly cheaper than the more powerful Xgimi Horizon S Max projector retails for $1,899/£1,699/€1,999.
