Xiaomi tipped to release Redmi Turbo 4 and Redmi Turbo 4 Pro with MediaTek and Qualcomm chipsets
The Redmi Turbo 3 is not all that old, having been presented in April. Thus, one might conceivably believe that Xiaomi will not replace the device for a while yet. Nonetheless, Digital Chat Station is already discussing the prospect of the company introducing a successor with various upgrades over the current model.
Allegedly, Xiaomi plans to release not one but two Redmi Turbo 4 smartphones. Specifically, Digital Chat Station reports that the company is actively developing the Redmi Turbo 4 and Redmi Turbo 4 Pro, which it will primarily distinguish by their chipsets. However, the leaker expects both to arrive with 1.5K displays and a battery capacity that exceeds 6,000 mAh.
Reportedly, Xiaomi intends to equip the Redmi Turbo 4 with MediaTek's Dimensity 8400. By contrast, the Redmi Turbo 4 Pro is said to utilise the 'Snapdragon 8s Gen 4'. Given that Qualcomm has just re-branded its mobile chipsets with the Snapdragon 8 Elite, it is unclear whether Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 will be this chipset's final name.
For reference, Xiaomi has not released the Redmi Turbo 3 globally. Instead, it is only available outside China as the Poco F6 (curr. $378.50 on Amazon). Thus, we imagine that the Redmi Turbo 4 and Turbo 4 Pro will be re-branded and sold under different names globally. Unfortunately, it remains to be seen what global names these devices will take for the time being.
