New evidence has revealed Xiaomi's plans to release a flagship Poco smartphone globally. Surprisingly, the device is the Poco F7 Ultra, which is reputed to be the international version of the Redmi K80 Pro.

Earlier this week, Xiaomi confirmed that it would be one of the first Android OEMs to release a Snapdragon 8 Elite-powered smartphone. For context, while it outlined that Qualcomm's latest chipset would underpin the Xiaomi 15, it is also expected to feature inside the Xiaomi 15 Pro and Xiaomi 15 Ultra.

Moreover, the Redmi K80 Pro is a likely candidate for the Snapdragon 8 Elite. Based on recent Redmi K series releases, the Redmi K80 Pro will likely land in late November or December 2024. Although the Redmi K80 Pro may be another Chinese exclusive, it seems that Xiaomi is developing a global alternative that could debut under its Poco sub-brand, which remains stylised as POCO.

Specifically, new IMEI database results suggest that Xiaomi is working towards delivering the Poco F7 Ultra as a global alternative to the Redmi K80 Pro. Unfortunately, it remains unknown when the Poco F7 Ultra will be available. However, a spring 2025 global launch seems likely given previous Poco F series release cycles, including this year's Poco F6 Pro (curr. $469.99 on Amazon).
