New Xiaomi 4-in-1 USB-C and USB-A splitter features 15W output, compact size and 5 Gbps transfer speeds
Xiaomi has announced its 4-in-1 dual-head splitter, available for crowdfunding at ¥45 (~$6.3), with a retail price of ¥49 (~$6.8). The campaign has already surpassed 191% of its goal, with over 1,500 supporters. Shipping is expected to begin by October 30, 2024.
This splitter features both USB-A and USB Type-C ports, making it compatible with various devices and operating systems, including Windows, macOS, Android, and Linux. It includes four USB 3.0 ports that support simultaneous use, with data transfer speeds of up to 5Gbps. Xiaomi claims it can transfer a 1 GB file in just three seconds.
The splitter’s USB-C port provides up to 15W of auxiliary power, making it suitable for powering larger devices such as external hard drives, while the USB-A ports deliver a total output of 5V/3A for smaller devices.
Built with a durable ABS exterior (a lightweight plastic known for its strength and impact resistance) and a tin-plated copper core, the splitter seems to be designed for strong electrical conductivity. Its 9.3 mm wide port spacing should be decent for easy connection of multiple devices without overcrowding.
The device is also equipped with safety features, including Over Current Protection (OCP) and Over Voltage Protection (OVP), to safeguard electronics from potential power surges or voltage spikes.
Measuring 105 x 33.5 x 11.5 mm, this splitter is pretty compact for those who need multi-device connectivity on the go. Xiaomi is offering free shipping and a 7-day return policy during the crowdfunding period as well.
