Xiaomi 15 to launch with massive performance gains over Xiaomi 14 thanks to Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset
The Xiaomi 15 is almost here, if a recent leak is to be believed. To that end, Xiaomi has confirmed that it will present its next flagship smartphones later this month. In the meantime, the Xiaomi 15 can already been seen on Geekbench sporting what appears to be Qualcomm's new Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset.
Building on a leak from a few days ago, almost one hundred Geekbench listings have been posted in roughly two days. As far as we can tell, all the listings focus on the Xiaomi 15 with 16 GB of RAM. However, the Xiaomi 14 (curr. $779.99 on Amazon) implies that this RAM configuration will be one of many that Xiaomi offers in its home market and internationally.

Additionally, the Xiaomi 15 appears to run Android 15 in all cases, over which Xiaomi will install HyperOS 2.0. Moreover, the Snapdragon 8 Elite helps the device outscore its predecessor and other Snapdragon 8 Gen 3-powered peers by a massive margin.
For reference, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 averages 2,106 and 6,638 points in Geekbench 6's single-core and multi-core benchmarks. By contrast, the Snapdragon 8 Elite inside the Xiaomi 15 averages 3,043 and 9,385 in the same benchmarks, which represents 45% and 41% performance uplifts, respectively. In other words, these improvements mirror Qualcomm's claims during its Snapdragon 8 Elite reveal; please see our launch article for more details about Qualcomm's latest chipset.
Likewise, Qualcomm's new Adreno GPU is shaping up to be significantly more powerful than the Adreno 750 inside the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. For context, the latter averages 13,947 in Geekbench 6 OpenCL and 15,837 in Geekbench 6 Vulkan with peaks of 15,678 and 17,531, respectively. In comparison, Qualcomm's new Adreno GPU regularly achieves over 18,000 points in the former and 24,000 points in the latter.
