Xiaomi Pad 7 series launch date and some core specs officially confirmed
Xiaomi has just made its first Snapdragon 8 Elite phones official, and they will be fully showcased at the October 29 launch event in China. This launch event will also introduce the company's new Android tablet lineup, the Xiaomi Pad 7 series. However, the tablets within the series won't be as exciting as the upcoming phones.
More specifically, Xiaomi has confirmed that the Pad 7 Pro will feature the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3. The non-Pro variant, on the other hand, is rumored to feature the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3. Both of them are upper mid-range chips, so the two new Android tablets won't really be geared for top-notch performance.
On the bright side, Xiaomi says that the Pad 7 series will bring a flagship-grade display. The company says that the tablet screen was designed for light office use. It's an 11.2-inch screen with a 3:2 aspect ratio specifically selected to enhance productivity.
This LCD display also has a 3200x2136 pixels resolution with a 144 Hz refresh rate and 345 PPI for sharp visuals. While not confirmed by Xiaomi, the Xiaomi Pad 7 Pro will reportedly feature full DC dimming, 67W fast charging support (100W Ugreen Nexode power bank curr. $54.39 on Amazon), and a 50 MP primary camera.
Both the tablets are confirmed to run HyperOS 2.0 out of the box, which is Xiaomi's new skin based on Android 15. It's said to bring more AI features and enhanced UI for a better tablet experience. Pricing details are yet to be revealed, but the launch event isn't far away from now. The two Xiaomi Pad 7 tablets are also expected to make a global debut after the Chinese launch.
