Xiaomi Poco F7 Pro to receive global release with rumoured Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset planned
Xiaomi's first 'Ultra' branded Poco smartphone has just appeared on an IMEI database. Based on current expectations, the Poco F7 Ultra will serve as the global version of the Redmi K80 Pro, which should debut in China before the end of the year.
Typically, Xiaomi releases two new Poco F series smartphones a year. To that end, it introduced the Poco F6 and Poco F6 Pro (curr. $480 on Amazon). However, it seems that there may be three Poco F7 models on the horizon.
For reference, evidence has already emerged that Xiaomi is also developing the Poco F7 with dedicated global and Indian releases planned. Moreover, the Poco F7 Pro also reared its head over the summer.
With that being said, it seems that the device is no longer being developed under the root model number '24122RKC7'. Instead, recent IMEI database results suggest that Xiaomi has switched to '24117RK2C', with 'C' and 'G' variants denoting Chinese and global models, respectively. Reportedly, the Poco F7 Pro will arrive with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, although its presumed Redmi K80 sibling may debut first next month or by December at the latest.
