Xiaomi 15: Latest leak hints at imminent international launch, but gets details wrong
The Chinese version of the Xiaomi 15 impressed on its visit to Geekbench 6 ahead of its launch; now, its international variant seems to have chosen to tackle the benchmark's AI performance tests in advance instead
It is indeed thought to be a version of the world's current smallest Snapdragon 8 Elite smartphone due to its model number: 24129PN74G, a possibly global (as indicated by the G suffix) derivative of the device's original 24129PN74C moniker.
However, should that be the case, the 15's global edition seems to have a different chipset on Geekbench AI: one with 6 cores clocked at 2.78GHz and 2 more at 4.09GHz, as opposed to the 6 x 3.53GHz/2 x 4.32GHz profile now familiar since Qualcomm's latest Snapdragon Summit.
Presuming it even is the Xiaomi 15, it has posted a decent enough set of scores on the benchmark thus far, with quantized scores ranging from 3,045 to 4,254: generally better (and much more consistent) than those associated with the 14 (or 23127PN0CG) on the same benchmark.
Nevertheless, this new leak might yet prove a sign that Xiaomi might be close to unleashing the world's first (and only, thus far) compact smartphone with the 8 Elite and Android 15 after all.
