Early Xiaomi 14 and Xiaomi 14 Pro sightings surface online
The first seemingly concrete signs of the Xiaomi 14 series have emerged online, courtesy of IMEI database returns. Currently, the likes of GSMChina have found four model numbers, two relating to Chinese models and two global counterparts. As the screenshots below show, Xiaomi has developed 23127PN0CG and 23127PN0CC, said to be the Xiaomi 14, plus 23116PN5BG and 23116PN5BC, global and Chinese versions of the Xiaomi 14 Pro.
Typically, Xiaomi's model numbers refer to when the company intends to release a device. Thus, 2311 and 2312 indicate that Xiaomi hopes to offer new flagships in November or December. According to Digital Chat Station, the Xiaomi 14 series will debut in November, a month earlier than the Xiaomi 13 and Xiaomi 13 Pro. However, there is no guarantee that the Xiaomi 14 or Xiaomi 14 Pro will be available globally during that window. Instead, Xiaomi's previous flagship releases suggest that it will wait until Q1 2024 before offering the Xiaomi 14 outside China.
Unsurprisingly, Digital Chat Station expects Xiaomi to base its next-generation flagships on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 platform, which will be the chipset of choice for Android OEMs heading into next year. The leaker also mentions 'N7', a shorthand codename for another Xiaomi 14 series member. Supposedly, this model has no direct predecessor, much like the Xiaomi 12X. Hence, it is unlikely to refer to the Xiaomi 14 Ultra. No other details about 'N7' are known for now, nor whether it will receive a global release.
